Our sustainability report needs cloud carbon data and we are flying blind
The board has committed to a Scope 3 emissions reduction target — the indirect emissions, including cloud — and IT is a meaningful share. Microsoft's sustainability tools would produce the numbers, but the team hasn't connected them. The sustainability team's current figures are educated guesses.

Good outcome — The sustainability report contains real cloud emissions data instead of guesses. The team knows which workloads to move or restructure to reduce emissions, and the quarterly cost review now includes a carbon line as well as a cost line.
